Senester King

As a product of DISD, Senester, graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1987. Upon graduation he joined the United State Army, serving overseas in Germany for 3 ½ year with a short stint at Ft. Bless, TX. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army in April of 1992, Senester never forgetting his roots he moved back to Dallas to live in the neighborhood where he grew up. Although he currently lives in Cedar Hill, he is deeply grounded in the Oak Cliff community. As a one-time employee for the City of Dallas, he worked nearly 14 years with Dallas Animal Service splitting his tenure first as an Animal Service Officer, and then as the department’s only Community Outreach Specialist for the entire city. In 2020 at the age of 50, after four straight years of attending college and starting out with only 6 credit hours from the military, Senester graduated for American Military University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Oak Cliff Together We Rise is his vision of a way to revitalize a once thriving community back to its glory days when personal responsibility was paramount and community pride was a way of life.

Cheryl Washington

A Dallas native, Cheryl Washington is the founder and Executive Director of BOSI, Beautified Outwardly Satisfied Inwardly. Cheryl attended school in Dallas ISD and graduated from W.H. Adamson in 1984. After High School Cheryl attended Mountain View Junior College where she received an Associate degree in Administrative Management.

She is the Founder/Director of BOSI, Beautified Outwardly, Satisfied Inwardly nonprofit organization in Dallas, Texas. She is an Alumni of the 2003 graduating class of Pathway to Purpose Ministry (PWP), under the leadership of Cynthia Mickens. In addition to her many talents, Cheryl is a licensed Professional Cos of 28 years, she continues volunteering her time assisting Desoto Public Library with teen events and programs. She also volunteered to conduct various sessions afterschool for the Spirit team of Permenter Middle School in Cedar Hill, Tx

Cheryl is a member of Harvest Fellowship Baptist Church, where Dr. Ed Johnson III is Pastor. She serves as the Director of Worship, Praise and Worship Leader and Finance Team Member. She always finds a way to combine her business mindset with her desire to encourage and empower women. She’s known for her passion, warmth, lovely spirit, and transparency.
